So, here is the
start of my
brainstorms!!!
I'm still getting the hang of using this website..!!! Please bear with me!
So I want to focus on Individualism in our world today and how it damages us/how to even understand how we got to this point.
Golnar recommended this documentary.
I am inclined to work on a project that is maybe more sci-fi oriented, I appreciate this genre on a personal level, but I also think there are many opportunities to re-imagine things. Its a great platform. for exploring alternative. futures

Dominant Narrative: The Self / Autonomous Individualism
Dominant Narrative: The “Self”
Individuality and Autonomy are in Our Best Interests
Over time our communities have slowly created these unseen boundaries/enclosures that tell us that prioritizing ourselves this is the right thing to do. However, when this becomes integral to our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, it isolates us and makes us sick. This list is not complete, but for the sake of digestion, we see this in:
Competition and scarcity, feeling we must compete for limited resources, encouraging distrust and self-interest. We somehow feel that their gain is our loss.
Elderly care, where personal sacrifice (living with elderly family members rather than sending them to a nursing home) is viewed as a setback, prioritizing individual progress over community needs.
The "self-made" myth, where only individual success is celebrated, ignoring the collective effort behind achievements. Most big cultural achievements have a spot for only 1 winner, the Nobel prize, Oscars, Grammy’s, etc….
Consumer identity, where self-expression is tied to products and brands. This obsession with clothes and accessories is self-interested and diverts us from much realer pressing issues.
I know that we shouldn't really be considering visuals at this. point, but given that Animation students are required to start on their graduation projects now, I cannot remove these visual progressions from my minor thought process.
THE BACKGROUND IS NOT MEANT TO BE THIS IMAGE!
A paragraph describing a potential method for entering/intervening with this archive (this will evolve, and you can change it later).
I think one of the ways that this archive can be entered/intervened with is via a person who has no belongings or obligations.
I wonder if children can be a good way to intervene with this archive, as they aren't as "thoroughly educated" in the appropriate ways to interact . sure, they are influenced by their parents but still it doesn't always hold true. Personal space and so on is understood differently for them.

I think that this archive could be. explored through. the lens of indigenous groups/communism/other religions or regimes that talk about the dangers of individualism. How is life different for them?
Not to say that their perspective is correct, but through this lens, we can re-imagine or see new things about our own realities.
I. think the difficulty is that language-wise I have access to western articles about the east's opinion on the west, but these are obviously biased.

I am quitting hot glue, this has been a miserable experience.
I will be back with a much more pleasant archive and website on MIRO within the coming days. (today is October 10th)
